Cinnamon bread

A sweet spicy bread for toasting.

Cinnamon bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 packet Schar bread mix
  • 2 tsps chestnut flour (optional)
  • Salt and a little cinnamon / nutmeg
  • Yeast
  • 4 fl. oz. milk
  • 1 fl. oz. oil
  • 7 fl. oz. warm water
  • 1 beaten egg white (optional)
  • Cinnamon
  • Brown sugar
  • Soft butter
 

Instructions

  1. Beat the cinnamon, sugar and butter together until creamed.
  2. In a separate bowl mix the flours, salt, spices and yeast.
  3. Add the warm liquids and the beaten egg white.
  4. Mix well.
  5. When thoroughly mixed add the cinnamon / butter / sugar mixture and stir together as gently as possible.
  6. Put into a well greased loaf tin and leave to rise for about 45 minutes.
  7. Bake at 400F for about 40 minutes.
